                   Frankie in Three Ways

If you have a sudden craving for some street food, then Frankie can always fulfil your cravings instantly and easily. Known by different names like Kathi Roll, Veg Roll or Chinese Roll, it is super easy and super tasty to calm down your taste buds. 
                                                                       


First of all, the most necessary element of this recipe is the Frankie Masala. It is no big deal in preparing the masala. It is as simple as that. 

FRANKIE MASALA:

INGREDIENTS: 
Red Chilli Powder- 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
Coriander Powder- 1 tsp
Black Salt- 1 tsp
Cumin Powder- 1 tsp
Anardana Powder- 1 tsp
Aamchur Powder- 3 tsp
Garam Masala Powder- 1 tsp
                                                                    


METHOD:
Just mix all the spices in a Bowl properly and you can store it in an Air-tight container for a long time and use.

Now we will see the Three ways of making Frankie Roll.

PANEER FRANKIE ROLL:
                                                         


INGREDIENTS:
Paneer- 200 gms
Maida-2 cups
Sooji- 2 1/2 cups
Atta- 3 cups
Ghee- 1/2 cup
Milk- As per requirement
Onion- 7 no.
Tomato- 3 no.
Capsicum- 3 no.
Cabbage- 1 no.
Tomato Ketchup- 3 tbsp
Chilli Sauce- 2 tbsp
Soy Sauce- 1 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
Salt- As per taste
Black pepper powder- 2 tsp
Oregano- 3 tsp
Chilli Flakes- 2 tsp
Frankie Masala- for sprinkling

METHOD:

First, take the Maida, Atta and Suji in a mixing bowl. Add Ghee to it and after mixing for a while add milk and knead a smooth dough. The dough should not be too sticky. Then cover the dough and keep it aside.  Cut the vegetables in juliennes. Add oil to a pan and put the onions in the pan. After the onions are a little pink, add capsicum to it then add carrot and tomatoes and at last the cabbage fry the vegetables until they get a little soft. Then add tomato ketchup, chilli sauce and soya sauce to it. Cook them until the rawness of the vegetables goes. 
Paneer will get an little twist in this recipe take some oil in a pan and add paneer to it then add a little turmeric and red chilli powder to the Paneer. When the Paneer gets a little Brown, turn off the flame and add Oregano and chilli flakes to it. Your paneer is ready with a simple twist in it. 
Now start preparing the chapati for the roll. When the chapati is prepared put the the vegetable masala in a vertical manner and  then put the Paneer cubes on them and then sprinkle the Frankie masala on them. Garnish with some onion slices and roll the Frankie. Your Paneer Frankie is ready to eat.

ALOO FRANKIE ROLL:
                                                       

INGREDIENTS:
Aloo- 5 no.
Maida-2 cups
Sooji- 2 1/2 cups
Atta- 3 cups
Ghee- 1/2 cup
Milk- As per requirement
Onion- 7 no.
Tomato- 3 no.
Curd- 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds- 2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder- 1 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
Salt- As per taste
Black pepper powder- 2 tsp
Coriander Chutney- 4 tbsp
Frankie Masala- for sprinkling

METHOD:
The dough making process of this Frankie will be same as the Paneer Frankie and also the chapati making process.
For the Masala take oil in a pan and when it gets hot, add cumin seeds to it. Then add finely chopped onions and try them until get golden brown after the the onions get cooked a little, add tomato puree two the onion. Then took them until the oil gets separated from the mixture. Add red chilli powder salt turmeric powder and black pepper powder to the mixture. When the mixture gets properly cooked add curd to it. Cook it for 2 mins. Then add mashed potatoes to the mixture and and mix the potatoes with the masala in a good way. At last at Garam Masala to the mixture turn off the flame.Take the chapati and rub 1 tbsp of coriander chutney on it. Then put the mixture on the chapati at the centre and then sprinkle Frankie masala on it and then add some sliced onions on the top of it. Serve hot.

SOYA CHAAP KATHI ROLL:
                                                      

INGREDIENTS:
Soya Chaap- 5 no. (you can make the soya chaap according to the method given below)
Maida-2 cups
Sooji- 2 1/2 cups
Atta- 3 cups
Ghee- 1/2 cup
Milk- As per requirement
Onion- 7 no.
Tomato- 3 no.
Cashew Paste- 4 tbsp
Kashmiri Red chilli powder- 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
Salt- As per taste

METHOD:
Now this will be a little complicated way of making a Kathi roll. This will take a little more time. If you want to prepare the Soya Chaap on your own then you have to take soya bean dal and soya chunks and soak them overnight. Then the next day grind the soaked soya bean dal into fine paste and also the soya chunks into fine taste after that add a little Atta or Maida to it and knead a normal dough out of it. Roll the dough on icecream sticks and boil them in water until the rawness of chaap goes away. Then you can store them in refrigerator for immediately use it by cutting them into medium pieces and Shallow frying or deep frying them.
Soya Chaap is also easily available online  but for healthy Soya Chaap without preservatives, you can readily make the soya chaap on your own.
Now again, the procedure of making the dough and chapati will be the same. For the masala Chaap take oil in in a pan and add after get a little add onion paste into it onion paste until it gets golden brown and then add Tomato paste. After it gets cooked and oil gets separated from it add cashew paste into the mixture. Cook it for another 2 to 3 minutes and then add Kashmiri Red chilli powder, turmeric and salt and after that, add a little water. Just a little spoon of water. Then add the fried Soya Chaap and keep the masala Soya Chaap dry only because if the masala Soya Chaap will contain so much gravy then the roll will get soft and wet. Put the masala Soya Chaap on the center of the Chapati and sprinkle Frankie Masala and garnish it with Onion slices and Roll the chapati. Your chatpata Soya Chaap Kathi Roll is ready to feast on.
